What I find ironic in today’s political climate is how the city council of MPLS wants us to be responsible for the actions of our tenants. Maybe it makes sense if you look at it this way. This is how they view the world after a couple generations of welfare.

You’re too lazy to work	Puts you on Welfare
You’re a single drunk or addict	You collect General Assistance
You run out of money mid-month	You move up to SSI, more $
You’re already on welfare with one kid and have another	They give you more money
People want to sue you	Welfare money is non collectable in court
You damage your apartment	The Inspections dept. makes the landlord fix it
You don’t pay your rent and are evicted	Much help here. Legal Aid and tenants Union help you. Don’t forget to save those handy Insp. work orders to show in court.
You lose anyway and have no security deposit	They give you another security deposit
You trash the next apartment so bad they condemn it	You get relocation assistance money
You have still another kid	They give you more money
You’ve lost another security deposit and you can’t get another for a while	You get a list of charities and chumps to call for help.
You get evicted from public housing	They put you right back in public housing.
You get convicted of welfare fraud	You still collect welfare anyway.
You get caught doing felony crime	You’ve got lots more convictions to go before serving a day of time
Your pimp beats you up	You pretend to fall down a stairwell, collect insurance scam money.
You can’t get an apartment nohow with your rental histor	The city puts you up in a shelter
You get thrown out of the shelter	the city puts you up in a motel
You get thrown out of that motel	The city puts you in another motel
