Minneapolis Property Rights Action Committee (MPRAC) Meeting

When: Wednesday, June 8, 2005, 7 - 9 p.m.

Where: Radisson Hotel Metrodome, 615 Washington Ave. S.E., (7 Corners) first floor

First hour (7-8 p.m.) Barb Johnson, Minneapolis City Council member from the 4th ward, will be our guest. She will discuss housing and crime issues or other matters affecting the city.

Second hour (8-9 p.m.) Dan Cohen, author of Anonymous Source, will discuss his experiences in dealing with the Star Tribune newspaper. Cohen is a former president of the Minneapolis City Council - the last Republican to hold that position. He provided information to a Star Tribune reporter that the DFL candidate for Lieutenant Governor, Marlene Johnson, had once been arrested for shoplifting on condition that he remain anonymous. The Star Tribune disclosed his identity anyhow. Cohen lost his job as a result. A lawsuit ensued.
At this meeting others with issues concerning the Star Tribune’s behavior over the years will also be in attendance.
